Legislator Kopel knows how hard it is to make ends meet today. He's made Nassau more affordable by voting to lower every homeowner's tax burden and eliminating the unfair 2.5% Home Energy Tax.
At the first meeting of the Ninth Session of the Nassau County Legislature held on January 2, Legislator Howard J. Kopel was unanimously selected by his colleagues as Alternate Deputy Presiding Officer (Majority Whip).
Additionally, Presiding Officer Peter J. Schmitt announced that Kopel would serve as the new Vice Chairman of the Rules Committee, the new Chairman of the Budget Review Committee, and continue his work as Chairman of the Government Services and Operations Committee as well as the Vice Chairman of the Public Works and Parks Committee.
Thank you to the voters of the 7th Legislative District for the decisive vote of confidence on Election Day. My win is OUR win. I look forward to continuing to work hard for the families and seniors of the Five Towns, East Rockaway, Island Park, and Oceanside.

Howard Kopel handily defeated Adam Moser on Tuesday and gained a second term as legislator for the seventh district.
